Inter-District Transfers - Requests for Admission
For the 2014-15 school year, the David Douglas School Board will approve 25 new inter-district transfer applications for admission to David Douglas Schools, determined on a first come, first served basis. Applicants must first be released by their home school district.
Applications for Renewal
Per the Oregon Legislature's approval of HB 4007, students who attended David Douglas schools via inter-district transfer in 2013-14 are automatically released by their home school districts, and are eligible to apply directly to David Douglas School District for continued admission for 2014-15. Contact the Superintendent's Office at 503-261-8201 for an application.
Thanks to our generous voters and taxpayers, 11 schools in the David Douglas School District will have renovation and remodel work going on this summer.
Most of these schools will be closed for the summer, while facilities at others will be limited.
Many summer programs held at these schools will be moved for the summer to other buildings. Here is a summary of what’s happening at each of these schools, what if any portions will be closed, and where summer programming will be moved.
Free breakfast and lunch will be served to all children every day during the summer beginning June 23 at Ron Russell Middle School, 3955 SE 112th Avenue.
Any child 18 and under who comes to Ron Russell Monday through Friday, June 23 through Aug. 15, will be served free breakfast and lunch. It doesn’t matter where the child lives or whether they are a student of the David Douglas School District.
Will your child be 5 years old by September? If so, sign them up for school by June 1! Our schools are taking kindergarten registrations right now.
If your child will be 5 years old by Sept. 1, then he or she is ready for school. Register at your school by June 1 to give your child a good start, connect to summer activities and get access to free resources.
The David Douglas Budget Committee has unanimously approved a budget for the 2014-15 school year. The approved budget includes a general fund of about $117 million. With an improving economy, the District is seeing an increase in State School Funds, as well as local revenues, over the past 3-4 years.
